Enhanced Integration Services (EIS) for Naturalized Canadian Citizens

Enhanced Integration Services: Supporting Calgary’s Newest Citizens on Their Journey

“Thank you very much for the continued guidance, services, information, and support in applying for the Canadian passport and AISH application. Your ongoing support was crucial to my settlement and integration process in Calgary. Your service is very much appreciated.”

This heartfelt message from a privately sponsored client, who faced financial and medical challenges and limited access to information, underscores the transformative impact of CCIS’s Enhanced Integration Services (EIS) program. Stories like his inspire our EIS team to continue providing tailored support to clients navigating their new lives in Canada.

Launched in 2017, the EIS program delivers customized services to meet the unique settlement and integration needs of naturalized Canadian citizens from diverse cultural backgrounds. By collaborating with Calgary’s ethnic communities and partner organizations, we’ve reached over 2,000 clients through one-on-one sessions and group workshops—helping them integrate into society as confident, contributing members.

Our efforts have particularly benefited communities from Sudan, Nigeria, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan, India, Pakistan, Syria, Ethiopia and Eritrea. One standout initiative was our Digital Literacy Workshop, where we distributed 45 laptops and computers to families in need—empowering them with tools for success in a digital world.

Key partnerships with organizations like the Calgary Police Service Diversity Team Unit, Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth (CBFY), Trellis Society, and community groups such as the Nepalese Community Association of Calgary and the South Sudanese Youth Empowerment Society have been instrumental in this work.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to host workshops on critical topics such as:

  • Mental Health Support: Addressing depression, anxiety, loneliness, family relationships and addiction challenges
  • Art Therapy: Promoting emotional stability, self-awareness and mental peace
  • Canadian Dental Care Plan: In collaboration with Service Canada and Genesis Centre

Through these initiatives—and many more—we remain committed to supporting Calgary’s newest citizens as they build fulfilling lives in their adopted home.
