Note (New Date): February 25, 2025
[12:00 pm – 1:30 pm]
Join us for an engaging and insightful panel discussion where we will explore the experiences, challenges, and triumphs of Black professionals in our community. Our amazing panelists, coming from diverse professional backgrounds, will share their personal stories and reflections on various important topics, including:
- Reflecting on Racial and Ethnic Identity: How often do you reflect on your racial or ethnic identity? Our panelists will discuss the importance of self-awareness and cultural pride in their personal and professional lives.
- Career Preparation: Hear about the unique journeys and the pivotal moments that shaped their paths to success.
- Facing Challenges: Learn about the obstacles they have overcome and the strategies they use to navigate ongoing challenges.
- Feeling Heard and Valued: Our panelists will share their insights on creating inclusive environments and ensuring that Black employees feel valued and supported, not only during Black History Month but throughout the year.
- Perceptions of Colorblindness: What thoughts come to mind when you hear phrases like “I don’t see color” or “I am colorblind”? What are your reflections on the backlash against Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives and the Black Lives Matter movement? Engage in a critical discussion on the impact of these statements and the importance of recognizing and celebrating diversity.
This virtual event provides a platform for meaningful dialogue and fostering a deeper understanding of the unique experiences of Black individuals in our community.
