How to Nominate
Do you know an inspiring immigrant senior or a dedicated volunteer group that deserves recognition? Nominate them today! Simply fill out the nomination form, providing detailed information about the nominee’s contributions and achievements. Ensure you include any supporting documents and a verification signature from a relevant authority. Please submit form in-person or by mail to the listed address on the form or below. Forms can also be scanned and emailed to Negin or Sherrisa. Nomination deadline is October 30, 2024
Individual Categories:
We seek to honour immigrant seniors who have made notable contributions to their communities after the age of 60. Nominees should demonstrate outstanding achievements in one or more of the following areas:
- Volunteering: Providing invaluable service and support to various causes and organizations.
- Community Leadership: Leading initiatives and projects that foster positive change.
- Supporting One’s Cultural Community: Promoting and preserving cultural heritage and traditions.
- Advocating for Seniors Issues: Championing the rights and well-being of seniors.
- Other Significant Involvement: Engaging in meaningful activities that enhance home and community life.
Group Category:
We also recognize volunteer groups that meet the following criteria:
- Comprising at least 10 members, with 80% aged 60 or more and born outside of Canada.
- Active for at least two years, demonstrating a sustained commitment to community service.
- Organizing a minimum of three events or activities annually that contribute to the betterment of the community, supported by a letter of acknowledgment.
- Verification by a social worker or coordinator to confirm the group's achievements.
