Learning and Employment Advancement Program (LEAP)

SERVICE DETAIL

Learning and Employment Advancement Program (LEAP)

Many newcomer jobseekers with limited English have constrained financial resources and cannot risk paying for a certification course they might not pass. To support their labour market integration, LEAP will provide learners (CLB 3–6) with employment‑focused vocabulary, confidence, and knowledge needed for workplace communication, training courses, and/or certification exams.

  • *Standard First Aid (preparation training) / 15h
  • *Health & Safety (preparation training) / 8h
  • Customer Service / 15h

Learning & Employment Advancement Program (LEAP) POLICY:

*Join the free Learning & Employment Advancement Program (LEAP) at CCIS and build your English language skills, workplace vocabulary, and confidence to prepare for employment-focused training and certification courses such as Standard First Aid, Health & Safety, and Customer Service. Standard First Aid and Health & Safety are introductory training courses (they are free and are intended to familiarize you with the terminology and prepare you for paid training and certification).

The LAEP program is divided into 3 different trainings, allowing learners to build their skills incrementally while catering to their individual learning pace. Learners may choose to attend all three or select the one that best meet their needs.

Delivery Format

Classes are primarily conducted in-person to facilitate student interactions and maximize engagement. However, online options are available upon request for learners facing barriers to in-person attendance.

Language Options

Classes are offered in plain English for the learners CLB 3-6.
