Future Direction Workshop Helps Youth Build Pathways to Employment

The Skills Elevate Youth Employment Program is launching its Future Direction Workshop on September 30, offering youth aged 15 to 30 valuable tools and support as they prepare for full-time employment.

Over 10 weeks, participants will develop essential job-readiness skills, including resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, job search strategies, and an understanding of the Canadian workplace. The workshop also encourages youth to explore career options, set short- and long-term goals, and build confidence for their employment journey.

A variety of guest speakers will present on job search, career development and Canadian culture during the course. The program also includes visits to cultural venues throughout Calgary, helping youth become familiar with the city while strengthening their transit navigation skills.

Delivered in person at CCIS’s main office, the workshop provides ongoing support beyond the classroom. Participants who do not secure employment by the end of the program will continue to receive individualized job search assistance from program staff.

The Future Direction Workshop is designed to help young people build skills, connections, and confidence as they take the next steps towards employment in Canada.
