There is much to learn when you and your family first arrive in Claresholm and area. We assist with your immediate needs for housing, schools, health care and more.
Throughout the year, we provide workshops and information sessions to give you more knowledge about how to make the region of Willow Creek your home.Â
Our workshops cover a wide range of topics from driving in Alberta, to filing income tax, to learning about community events, and discovering the many things you can do with your family.
As an organization with strong connections to Okotoks, we have numerous opportunities for volunteers like you to support our agency. You can lend a hand with office organization, paperwork, event management and helping others settle in our community.Â
Our flagship volunteer opportunity is Canada Connects. We are always looking for caring, committed individuals who have the time and flexibility to spend a few hours each week with a family who needs support and kindness as they resettle in Canada.
These are life-changing friendships waiting to be shared. We accept both family units and individuals.
Volunteers offer guidance and companionship to someone new, and help us provide support to our newest neighbours, and the community as a whole. Find out today how you can make a difference.
We are also pleased to be a partner organization with the Welcoming Claresholm Project.
Together with the Economic Development Committee/Town of Claresholm, this initiative supports Claresholm and region-including its service providers, schools, community members and employers- in welcoming, settling and retaining newcomers in the area.
By building the capacity of the community to support newcomers as they adjust to life in their new community, and ensuring they feel welcomed and engaged, the Town of Claresholm will stand out an attractive, supportive municipality which benefits from inclusion and diversity.
Our staff and volunteers speak a number of different languages and can assist you during those times when speaking and understanding English with other community members is necessary. Official documents requiring legal or medical translation can be facilitated by our Calgary office who have access to certified translators. Contact Shadi Zaidan at szaidan@ccisab.ca. This is a fee-for-service.
