Day 5 | Elimination of Racial Discrimination

This past week has been a time of reflection, awareness, and learning. We have had the opportunity to examine our misunderstandings about cultures, languages, and the world around us. We hope that you and your family were able to learn something new from the resources and conversations we shared.

The world has changed a great deal since March 21st, 1960. Apartheid in South Africa has been abolished. Segregation laws around the world have been stuck down, and immigration has brought peoples from various cultures together. However, we know that there is still a long way to go. We must stay vigilant and aware of attitudes and beliefs that make racism an ongoing reality within our community.

FCIS and the Baha’i Faith community would like to thank the Town of Okotoks, Okotoks Library, Okotoks Cinema and local high schools that participated in the essay /art contest.
