Volunteer Resources guides the efforts of volunteers who offer their skills in support of our 95+ programs and services. We are proud of our relationship with over 2000 volunteers.
Volunteering is about giving freely of your time, energy and talent to a cause or organization you believe in. It is your commitment to the community you call home.
Our volunteer matching program, Canada Connects, matches local Calgarians with new arrivals to introduce them to our city and province.

This has by far been the most rewarding volunteer program I have ever been a part of in my life. The family I volunteer with has become like a second family to me. They have enhanced my life as much as I have enhanced theirs.
Giving back to the community has always been my passion. The CCIS program of Canada Connects is therefore an important tool through which my passion becomes more practical. The program structure that included training, and supportive staff, makes the experience of volunteering more enjoyable.
We acknowledge Calgary and area as Treaty 7 territory. We acknowledge the Treaty 7 nations; the Piikani, Siksika, Kainai, Iyarhe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina First Nations. We acknowledge the ancestral territory of Siksikaitsitapi, the Blackfoot Confederacy, and the home of the Métis Nation of Alberta—Region 3. We are all treaty people.
In partnership, we empower immigrants and refugees to successfully settle and integrate in our communities.
