Celebrating Excellence: Our Sherrisa Celis Honoured with King Charles III Coronation Medal

Spring is a season of new beginnings, and what better way to welcome it than by celebrating an incredible achievement!

A huge congratulations to our very own Sherrisa Celis, Program Manager for Immigrant Seniors Services and Legal Education Services at CCIS, on receiving the King Charles III Coronation Medal, presented by MP Shuvaloy Majumdar! This prestigious honour recognizes her dedication, leadership, and outstanding contributions to Canada and her community.

Sherrisa’s impact at CCIS and in the community is undeniable. Through her work with our Immigrant Seniors Services, she helps seniors connect, engage in multicultural events, and access community resources. She is breaking down isolation and creating spaces where seniors feel valued, confident, and supported. Whether it’s through friendship-building activities, leadership development, or direct community support, her efforts are changing lives every day.

Her work through our Legal Education Program is just as transformative. She ensures that newcomers, service providers, and the general public have access to critical legal information on topics like immigration, family law, and criminal law, while also providing notary public services to assist with important legal documents.

This well-deserved honour, alongside the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal she received last year, is a testament to her dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to those she serves.

Congratulations, Sherrisa! It’s great having you on our team!
