Members of the Conversation Café group attended a Truth and Reconciliation Gathering in Drumheller on September 30, joining community members in recognizing the importance of truth, healing, and reconciliation.
The event provided an opportunity to listen, learn, and reflect on the experiences of Indigenous Peoples. Participants described the gathering as a meaningful experience that deepened their understanding of the lasting impacts of residential schools and the importance of reconciliation.
Attendees also took part in a round dance and connected with community members from across the region. For many newcomers, the gathering offered valuable insight into Indigenous history and culture while fostering dialogue and understanding. The Conversation Cafe continues to provide a welcoming space for conversation, learning, and community connection. In partnership with the Family Resource Network, the program will continue throughout October with activities that encourage engagement and relationship-building.
