RVIS at Airdrie’s Inaugural Taste of Nations: A Celebration of Culture, Community and Connection

Airdrie’s inaugural Taste of Nations was a perfect celebration of culture, community and connection, and colleagues from our rural outpost, Rocky View Immigrant Services (RVIS), were delighted to have participated in the amazing Welcoming Airdrie cultural extravaganza.

The warm, welcoming and entertaining atmosphere won the hearts of the community, as everyone enjoyed a delightful medley of dance, music and food.

Also there to take in all the colorful performances and savour the delicious cuisines from all over the world were distinguished members of the City of Airdrie, including MP Blake Richards, MLA Angela Pitt, MLA Peter Guthrie, Councillor Heather Spearman and Councillor Tina Petrow.

The event featured captivating performances by Kim Sundset from Youth Airdrie, Olga Korcheva representing Ukraine, Mohamed El Aourami from Morocco, Radwa Nasr from Egypt, Rajwant Kaur from Punjab, Sylvia Lorena Perez representing Latins, Bibhu Ojha from Nepal, Carol Brosoto from the Philippines, Christabelle Sonu from Ghana and Melvi Alvarado from El Salvador.

In addition to the performances, there were participating booths from Youth Airdrie, Ukraine, Morocco, Egypt, Punjab, Haiti, Latins, Mexico, Gujrat, Hindi, Nepal, Philippines, Afghanistan, Eritrea, Nigeria, Ghana and Colombia.

We look forward to more such events that bring our community together and celebrate our rich cultural diversity!
