Skills Elevate has two intakes starting on April 27!
Bridge to Success, for immigrant professional youth
Bridge to Success provided immigrant professional youth ages 20-30 with advanced job search techniques. Participants of this stream have attended and completed post-secondary studies back home, worked in their field, and need support to find employment related to their expertise. This stream consists of in-class instruction and self-study. After the workshop, participants will be supported one-on-one by the program’s Career and Employment Advisor to find work.
Future Directions for employment and career exploration
The Future Directions stream works with immigrant youth ages 15-30 in their career exploration and employment readiness. Youth will learn about resume and cover letter writing, take an inventory of their skills and strengths, learn interview skills, how to decode a job description, and apply for jobs. Clients will plan for short and long-term employment goals. After the workshop, youth will be supported one-on-one to find their first job in Canada.
