Mental Health in Times of Migration and Uncertainty

Rocky View Immigrant Services (RVIS), in collaboration with the Consulate of Colombia in Calgary, successfully delivered the workshop “When Everything Changes: Mental Health in Times of Migration and Uncertainty.”

This session provided a meaningful space for participants to reflect on the emotional impact of adapting to a new country, new cultures, and new ways of life within a global context shaped by economic, social, and professional uncertainty. Participants explored how these changes can affect mental health—including anxiety, stress, and demotivation—while gaining valuable tools to navigate this stage with greater well-being and resilience.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Gyna Ángel, Psychologist, for facilitating such an outstanding and engaging session. Through her expertise, empathy, and charisma, she created a dynamic, participatory, and truly enriching experience for everyone involved.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Consul General of Colombia, Jairo Andrés Paredes, and his team for their unwavering support and continued trust. Their commitment makes it possible to create these valuable spaces that strengthen and support our community.
